Cleaning

Four ways we work in a home, priced by rooms and condition rather than by guesswork.

Sensitivities

What we change when someone in the house reacts to scent, dust or residue.

Studio

Who turns up, where we work, and what we have written down about the trade.

Cleaning in Portland.

Most of our routes run inside Portland, and most of our clients live in a house older than anyone currently in it. That shapes almost every decision we make about products and water.

  • No travel charge anywhere inside the city.

The housing stock

Craftsman bungalows, four-squares and mid-century infill, with original fir or oak floors in a wide range of condition. Pre-1978 paint is the norm rather than the exception, so we never sand, scrape or heat any painted surface.

What actually goes wrong here

Damp. From October to April a Portland house is trying to hold moisture, and the places it shows up first are window sashes, bathroom ceilings, the wall behind a bed pushed against an exterior wall, and the inside of a closet on a north face. We check all four on every visit and tell you what we see.

Where we are, most weeks.

Not an exhaustive list. If your street is not named, ask anyway, because routes shift with the schedule.
